The America the Beautiful Challenge (ATBC) is an NFWF-administered consolidated grant program that pools funding from multiple federal agencies (USDA, DOI, DoD) and private partners to support locally-led, large-landscape conservation projects. Eligible work includes watershed restoration, riparian buffers, wetland enhancement, fish passage, and forested headwater protection.Pennsylvania headwaters projects in the Ohio and Susquehanna basins are eligible. Annual RFPs typically open in spring with awards in late summer/fall. Grant sizes range from $250,000 to $5 million.Strong fit for collaborative multi-partner projects that connect water quality, habitat, and community benefits across watersheds.
