The Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds (FPW) is a small but mighty funder dedicated specifically to Pennsylvania's volunteer watershed movement. FPW provides mini-grants ($500–$10,000) and project grants to support watershed association work including water quality monitoring, restoration projects, education programs, and capacity building. The Foundation was created specifically to serve grassroots groups that struggle to access larger institutional grants. Applications are accepted year-round with decisions made quarterly. The application process is deliberately streamlined to reduce the burden on all-volunteer groups. FPW also provides technical assistance through its staff and board network. Annual reports to funders are kept proportional to grant size.
