Project WILD and Project Aquatic WILD
Program Summary
Wildlife and aquatic-focused K-12 environmental education curricula with Pennsylvania state coordinators and workshops for educators.
Full Description
Project WILD and its Aquatic WILD supplement are widely used K-12 environmental education curricula focused on wildlife conservation, aquatic ecology, and habitat protection. Pennsylvania's Game Commission hosts the state Project WILD program, offering workshops that certify educators in the curriculum and provide free or low-cost activity guides. Aquatic WILD is particularly relevant for watershed education. Workshops usually run 4-8 hours and are frequently offered for ACT 48 credit. Many conservation districts and nature centers host Project WILD workshops throughout the year. The curriculum aligns with Next Generation Science Standards and the PA Environment and Ecology Standards.
