CSN Webinar Recording: Building Better Stream Monitoring Programs
Program Summary
Free recorded webinar on how three leading county stream monitoring programs are designed, what drives them, and the new methods they use.
Full Description
This Chesapeake Stormwater Network webinar, recorded August 11, 2026, features stream monitoring leads from Montgomery County, MD, Fairfax County, VA, and Anne Arundel County, MD. Topics include PCB source tracking, a riparian buffer study at stormwater ponds, eDNA sampling methods, Montgomery County's Special Protection Area program, and a rapid physical assessment tool for spotting unstable stream and outfall sites. It is pitched at communities starting or expanding a monitoring program. The examples are Maryland and Virginia, but the program design lessons carry over directly to MS4 communities and watershed groups in Pennsylvania's share of the Bay watershed.
