EPA's Gulf of America Division is soliciting applications for the Farmer-to-Farmer 2025 program, with up to $50 million available. EPA anticipates making approximately 20–30 awards ranging from $1.5 million to $2.5 million each, with a five-year project period. Applications must propose a water quality and/or habitat improvement project under one of four focus areas: (1) Farmer-to-Farmer Mentorship, (2) Demonstrating Regenerative Farming Benefits through Monitoring, (3) Innovative Technologies for Regenerative Farming, or (4) Habitat Improvement for Nutrient and Soil Management. Activities must take place within the Gulf of America watershed (which includes much of the Mississippi/Ohio basin draining western PA). Eligible applicants include nonprofits, conservation districts, tribes, state and local governments, interstate agencies, and institutions of higher education. For-profit farms/businesses and individuals are NOT eligible as primary applicants but may participate as paid partners or sub-recipients; individual farmers can participate by partnering with an eligible entity such as a conservation district, nonprofit, or cooperative.
