Patagonia's Environmental Grants Program is the company's flagship corporate giving program, funding small, grassroots environmental groups engaged in direct-action advocacy and conservation. The program explicitly prioritizes groups "that protect habitat, wilderness, and biodiversity — not sustainability, research, or education alone." Watershed groups working on dam removal, river protection, and pollution fights are natural fits. Grants range from $5,000 to $25,000 and are awarded based on applications reviewed twice annually. Retail-store-level grants are also available for groups local to Patagonia store locations (Pittsburgh has one). The application process is streamlined and decisions come back within 3-4 months of submission.
