USDA NRCS Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI)

The NRCS share of the federal Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, funding on-farm conservation in priority Lake Erie and Great Lakes basin watersheds.

Since 2010 the GLRI has served as a catalyst for federal agency coordination to protect and restore the largest system of fresh surface water in the world. The NRCS share funds on-farm conservation practices in priority Great Lakes watersheds with heavy emphasis on nutrient runoff reduction. Northern Ohio's Lake Erie basin, including the Maumee and Sandusky watersheds, is a core GLRI priority area, so this is directly relevant to Ohio water quality work and to any H2O partner operating in the Lake Erie drainage.
