PA DEP Chesapeake Bay Technician and Engineer Cost Share Program

Cost-share funding for Technician and Engineer positions at conservation districts in the Pennsylvania portion of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

This program keeps conservation district staff available to provide technical assistance to agricultural landowners implementing best management practices, to develop and verify Agricultural Erosion and Sediment Control Plans and Manure Management Plans, and to provide compliance assistance through the Chesapeake Bay Agriculture Inspection Program. A parallel Chesapeake Bay Engineer Program funds Engineer Specialists and Engineer Assistants at the same districts. Technician funding comes from the EPA Chesapeake Bay Regulatory Accountability Program grant and the DEP Chesapeake Bay Abatement Fund; engineer funding comes from the EPA Chesapeake Bay Implementation Grant.
