Ohio EPA Water Pollution Control Loan Fund — Program Year 2027 Call for Project Nominations

Ohio EPA has opened the Program Year 2027 call for project nominations under the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund, the state's Clean Water State Revolving Fund, with nominations due September 25, 2026.

The Water Pollution Control Loan Fund (WPCLF) is Ohio's Clean Water State Revolving Fund, administered by Ohio EPA's Division of Environmental and Financial Assistance. It provides below-market financial and technical assistance for planning, design, and construction of projects that improve surface and ground water quality. Eligible work spans wastewater treatment plant upgrades, sewer collection and CSO correction, stormwater and green infrastructure, home sewage treatment system repair and replacement, agricultural and nonpoint source best management practices, and stream and wetland protection through the companion Water Resource Restoration Sponsor Program. Communities and other eligible applicants must nominate projects during the annual call in order to be placed on the program year project priority list, which determines access to funding. The Program Year 2027 call is open now and all nominations must be received by close of business on September 25, 2026. Nominations are submitted by email to defamail@epa.ohio.gov. Ohio EPA also offers reduced interest rates and principal forgiveness for small and disadvantaged communities. For H2O Water Network members working in the Ohio portion of the basin, this is the single most important annual deadline for accessing state clean water infrastructure dollars.
