Project WET (Water Education Today) is a global water education nonprofit that produces classroom-ready curricula, hands-on activity guides, and teacher training workshops for K-12 educators and informal educators. The flagship Project WET 2.0 Curriculum and Activity Guide contains dozens of correlated activities aligned to Next Generation Science Standards and covering watershed dynamics, water chemistry, drinking water and wastewater systems, water conservation, climate, and water and culture.For watershed groups, Project WET provides three valuable points of leverage: (1) curriculum and activity guides that volunteers can use directly with students at watershed festivals, classroom visits, summer camps, and field days; (2) teacher training workshops, often co-hosted with state Project WET coordinators, that help groups build long-term relationships with local schools; and (3) free Discover Water online activities for at-home and classroom use.Pennsylvania has an active state Project WET coordinator network connected to the Department of Environmental Education programs. Watershed groups can partner with their state coordinator to host facilitator trainings, distribute materials, and integrate watershed education into their member outreach programs.
