WaterNow Alliance Communities in Action Resource Hub

A searchable library of utility case studies showing how communities are financing and implementing distributed water strategies such as lead line replacement, green infrastructure, and conservation programs.

WaterNow Alliance launched Communities in Action, a filterable hub of detailed case studies documenting how real utilities have financed and implemented distributed water infrastructure strategies. Current profiles include Denver's approach to pioneering financing for large-scale lead service line replacement, Milwaukee's green stormwater infrastructure program, San Antonio's community-wide conservation scaling, and Spanish Fork, Utah's use of smart irrigation to address a peak demand problem, with more being added. Projects can be filtered by topic (community engagement, conservation and efficiency, distributed infrastructure, funding and financing, green infrastructure, lead service line replacement, water affordability), by challenge, by population size, and by benefit. The value for H2O members is that each profile spells out the financing mechanism, not just the engineering, which is the piece most small and mid-sized systems in PA, OH, and WV struggle with. WaterNow also maintains a companion Tools and Guides section, a resource library, and a webinar archive. Membership is free for local water leaders and unlocks technical assistance and toolkits.
