Western Pennsylvania Conservancy (WPC)

Flagship regional conservation organization with watershed restoration, land protection, and native plant expertise spanning western Pennsylvania.

Western Pennsylvania Conservancy is one of the largest and most established conservation organizations in the state, with programs spanning land protection, watershed conservation, community gardens, native plants, and the Pennsylvania Natural Heritage Program. WPC owns or protects over 250,000 acres and operates multiple preserves open to the public including Bear Run Nature Reserve (home to Fallingwater). Watershed groups partner with WPC on large-scale restoration projects, landowner outreach, and species-specific initiatives (notably native brook trout recovery). WPC's ecologists provide technical review on projects, and the organization can serve as fiscal sponsor or partner on grant applications. Regional offices in Blairsville and other locations provide local presence.
